Thought For The Day

Sorry. . .Wrong!

If you are a regular reader of Lloveletters you will know that I try, at all costs, to avoid being controversial. My friends (or friend, as the case may be) know that I am never too strongly opinionated. But sometimes one just has to make sure we all know the Truth.

I remember when Bruce Jenner was on the Wheaties box. It was during those days when a boy wanted to be like him. He could run, jump, throw stuff, and look very good doing it. I lost track of him over the years, and since I don’t keep up with the Kardashians, I have only recently rediscovered his whereabouts.

I foolishly decided to watch the interview he gave to ABC last evening.  In the beginning I did not know that he was going to announce that he is “transgendered” (no, really. I just don’t keep up with this stuff).  He doesn’t look so good any more. Of course he is older (not nearly as old as I am), but I am willing to wager I can run faster and jump further, but that would just be boasting (and probably a little unkind). It was what he said near the end of the interview that I feel the necessity to speak to:

“I had this feeling—kind of a revelation—that maybe this is my cause in life,” Jenner said. “This is why God put me on this earth, is to deal with this issue. And that was a very powerful moment. It certainly gave me an awful lot of courage.” (TIME)

Sorry. . .wrong! God dealt with the gender of men and women when He created them. There is no one who is “transgendered.” There are only people who deal ignorantly with Truth. Jesus said,

“Haven’t you read,” He replied, “that He who created them in the beginning made them male and female,” and He also said:
“ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. (Matthew 19:4-5)

God revealed this Truth to Moses: So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female. (Genesis 1:27)

He created them male and female. When they were created, He blessed them and called them man. (Genesis 5:2)

Enough said!
