Subpoena

I find it hard to believe that the Mayor of Houston has asked the City Attorneys to subpoena the messages and communications of some Pastors in her fair city. Evidently she is concerned that they might be saying something to “defame” her. Perhaps they are saying that since she is a practicing Lesbian, and  therefore in violation of God’s Word, God will one day call her to account for her sin. I certainly hope that is what they are saying.

No one has to subpoena any of the sermons that our current supply preacher is sharing with us at the Church I am attending. He will be happy to send them to anyone who wants to listen. He does have privileged conversations which will not now or ever be revealed (even if subpoenas are served), but if you want to know if he will stand for the Truth of God’s Word, then listen to the sermons. And if you want copies, just ask. No reason to find a lawyer and spend all that money.

If you are homosexual you won’t like what he has to say. If you are a politician you will find a good bit of concern about what you are doing. If you are a liar, a thief, a drug addict, or a drunk, he is going to tell you to stop doing those things and get your life straight and holy.

God’s men are not afraid of the World or fearful of speaking Truth. It is their command, their job, and their joy.

So sue him! He’ll be shaking in his boots. . .NOT!
