Thought For The Day

The Good Life

If you are looking for the “Good Life” perhaps little is more important than knowing peace.

There are three areas where Peace must be established.

First, Peace with GodRomans 5:1 – Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Called “justification,” it is the imputation of Christ’s righteousness to us. It cannot be earned and cannot be bought. It is a gift from God that comes by grace through faith. (see Ephesians 2:8-9)

Second, Peace of GodPhilippians 4:6-9 – Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise — dwell on these things. Do what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

Peace comes through fellowship, or a right relationship with God The measure of peace is directly proportional to the time spent in personal communication with God. Example: Pray right – vs. 6; Think right – vs. 8; Do right – vs. 9.

Third, Peace with OthersRomans 12:18 – If possible, on your part, live at peace with everyone.

Find a way to settle differences. Learn to be forgiving and practice forgetfulness.

You will experience more misery than is required when you live without peace.
