Thought For The Day

The Test

When one attends  school (real school) there are tests. If one wants to drive a car there is a test to get a license. When one visits a Physician, especially, but not only, when they are experiencing some unusual symptoms, there is normally a test or two. It is quite possible that when one applies for some kinds of employment the employer may ask that one take a test or be observed fulfilling the responsibilities for the job.

We don’t have tests at Church. I can’t imagine the uproar that would crack the glass in the windows if it was decided that each individual would be tested on an ongoing basis regarding the principles and Truths of Scripture.

Hence it is unlikely that Believers, and pseudo-Believers, are going to spend some time (or any time) testing the really most important evaluation that can be studied. In 2 Corinthians 13:5, Paul, the Apostle, gave instructions regarding this matter. “Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves. Or do you yourselves not recognize that Jesus Christ is in you? — unless you fail the test.”

I hope we don’t miss that option given to us by the Spirit of God who spoke through Paul. A wise man indeed. We must be wise also in this matter also. If you need a short list of questions, just ask. Lloveletters.com will be happy to accommodate you.
