Thought For The Day

Tracked Down

Suppose your Church family was attempting to find you. Would there be enough evidence available for them to go on? Here’s an example –

Domingo Ramirez in the Ft. Worth Star-TelegramA hit-and-run driver accused of killing a Denton man on a Dallas highway during the weekend was identified late Monday as a 23-year-old woman, Dallas police said Tuesday. Dallas investigators tracked down the driver by using physical evidence at the scene and vague witness information.

The sad fact is, for many members of God’s family, there is little evidence of their involvement with the gathering of the family. Sometimes the “new” folks mistake the “old” folks for new folks because the old folks have not been around enough for the new folks to get to know them. Our Pastor says, “Some of our people think “regular” means once every couple of months.”

The Church of Jesus Christ is on mission here. And if that mission is to be accomplished it will take all of us – new and old, to get the job done. The writer of Hebrews (the Holy Spirit, of course) said, “do not stay away from our meetings, as some habitually do. . .”   (Hebrews 10:25 HCS)

If you remember where your Church family gathers, get yourself on over there. They need you. . .and you need them!
