Thought For The Day

Traditional Marriage

As the Church of Jesus Christ sits quietly by, the definition of “traditional marriage” is undergoing radical change. We tend to think that “traditional marriage” will never change. Millions of Church members thought the music and message of the Church would never change either, but that which is known as “traditional” in Worship today is very different from what many of us grew up with, and the vast majority of the Church has abandoned “tradition” for “innovative” (or some such) worship.

The definition of marriage is changing. Soon (a relative term) “traditional” will include a multitude of variations that will range far from God’s design.

If one were expecting the Republican Party to save “marriage” – get over it!

Only six of 54 Republican members of the Senate signed a pro-traditional marriage legal brief to the U.S. Supreme Court that was submitted on Friday. It appears that more and more elite or establishment Republicans are simply deciding to give up on the fight for traditional values and marriage. While this may seem politically expedient, this dramatic move to the left by the GOP could result in. . ., well you can fill in how you think that quote might end.  (GOP USA)

The Republican senators signing the brief included:

  • Senator Ted Cruz of Texas
  • Senator Steve Daines of Montana
  • Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma
  • Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma
  • Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky
  • Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina

As sure as Church “music” and “message” have changed, so also will marriage change. One has to be totally ignorant of history to believe that the radicalization of marriage will stop with “same-sex” unions. Soon (a relative term) multiple partner unions, adults with children unions, and “good-time” unions (“marriages that last for a month, or a week, or a night) will be on the agenda. Society will slip and slide ever further into the debauchery of the reprobate mind (see Romans 1), and there will be nothing left for Believers to do but wish someone would have stood strong during these days.

As a Texas, I thank God for Ted Cruz. Pray he can remain strong as the Enemy takes aim.

Amen. What will move us to action? Will re-education camps be the motivator?
And someone recently stated that our forefathers did not say “give us half liberty or Half of Life”
