Thought For The Day

Great News

I always appreciate good to great news. We don’t seem to get much of that from the “media” especially now that political things have made a bit of shift to the “right.”

From 2013 to 2014, 14% fewer abortions were performed in in Texas. That dramatic drop happened largely because the distances to abortion clinics went up, according to a new research letter published in JAMA. In the study, which used data from 2012-2014, researchers took a closer look at the declines in abortions among different Texas counties to see if travel was linked. Indeed, counties in which the distance to the nearest abortion facility increased by at least 100 miles had a 50% decline in abortions. Counties that did not have a provider in 2014 and did not experience a change in distance had basically no change in the abortion rate. (TIME)

Such a wonderful announcement should bring joy to our hearts. And it gets even better. It would appear that we can lower the number of  pre-meditated, first degree murders even more by simply closing the rest of the butcher shops that operate in Texas.

Life is a gift from God. No one has a right to take it except Him. New life in Christ is a gift from God, and everyone needs to find it by grace though faith. I am in favor of a 100% decline in the former and a  100% increase in the latter. In both cases the Church of Jesus Christ needs to be about it’s business.
