Thought For The Day

Let Kids Vote

Along with my new “REPLACE THEM ALL” Congressional campaign, I am adding a secondary focus — “Let Kids Vote.” I think that as soon as they are old enough to get an allowance, they must be allowed to vote. Wondering why? Read this:

For about a month, the Fed has been making billions of dollars worth of loans to money market mutual funds — via banks — to help relieve pressures on the funds. And, in a separate program that launches on Oct. 27, the Fed will buy vast amounts of commercial paper from an array of companies.

What could possibly go wrong? We all know the economy will turn around. We all know the market will “come back.” We know all these companies are run by principled folks with brilliant minds. We all know the Government of the United States is stable and nothing could possibly happen to all these billions of dollars we are pumping into what will ultimately become a socialist state if it continues.

And who will be affected most by that? Our children and grandchildren! Trillions of dollars in debt, no money to pay living expenses for old folks (that’s us) with Social Security bankrupt, a Government attempting to run business that has proved beyond any doubt that they cannot properly manage anything — from the Congressional Bank to the National Park System, and don’t even mention Education, they are inheriting a Nation where everything that can go wrong – has and will continue to be doing so. So let them vote! It only seems fair to me. And if you have the idea that THEY are not smart enough to know what to do – pray tell, what will have changed?

We (whoever that is) have always said that Children are the future of the Church. That is wrong! They are the Church, just as we are, and we need to realize that they will inherit the mess we make of it if our Lord does not return soon and take us all away. Let’s ask them what they think. Maybe a little wisdom will “trickle up.”
