Thought For The Day

School Begins

I have a grandson that started Kindergarten today. He seems so young and unprepared for such an adventure. I know I am. . .not young. . .just unprepared.

For the next thirteen years he will be shuffled from one Teacher to another, follow the curriculum prepared by politicians and educators and book writers, and God only knows who else. He will be subjected to a lot of things that are true. . .2 + 2 = 4. . .but much more that is not true. Origins will be a problem area. Political correctness will be rampant.  The narrative of History will be changed according to the text and the Teacher. Technology will change faster than he will change his socks. Peer pressure will mount exponentially in each successive year. Decisions about his life will be made by him, for him, around him, and without him.

I am just not prepared for this.

What he needs is someone with real wisdom that can counterbalance the six hours, five days a week, that the indoctrination will be occurring, with a Biblical Worldview, a solid understanding of American history, and a clear, accurate grasp of God’s Word, and do it in, at most, a couple of hours a week.

The boy is in real trouble.

His parents are bright, willing, capable, and ready, but the task will be overwhelming. Most kids starting school this year will, in the twelve years to follow this one, become so confused and disturbed that by the time University comes ’round, almost. . .almost all hope is lost. It ought not be this way. Somebody(s) need to change this mess for the better. Who? Who?
