Thought For The Day

Snow

I cannot remember when we have had more snow here in North Texas than this season. I awoke this morning to such a beautiful sight – my yard, the trees, everything, covered in a thick blanket of pure white.

As I left home for my earliest appointment I drove through some of our beautiful neighborhoods where there are lots of trees and fancy fences – it was literally like a storybook. If I had carried my camera I would have been tempted to stop and spend some time photographing the beauty. I felt like I was in the high country of Colorado, or the incredible Acadia National Park in coastal Maine (two of my favorite places) rather than the “Metroplex” running over with traffic and people and rain.

I could not help but be reminded of God’s Truth. “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” (Isaiah 1:18) While we may have times in our experience when we don’t feel “white as snow” the reality never changes. “If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive our sin, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) His forgiveness is absolute and perfect. If your area is covered with snow, take a long look. And, a word of praise and thanks is in order.
