This Is A Fix?

Our Government is broken. The Ship of State is moving toward the edge of failure and collapse, and the Captain is a tripartite congregation of ignorance, lawlessness, and failed ideas. There are ways to fix the problems – if there is enough time, and that is doubtful.

Some are holding out hope that the 2016 Presidential election will be the beginning of new, competent leadership at the helm. That alone is undoubtedly insufficient, however it is one place to start.

Some of the “fixes” won’t help. The latest one I have heard is typical of the type of foolishness that has  brought us to our current position.

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham is promising one big change if his White House bid proves successful: “If I’m President, we’re going to drink more.” (TIME)

Well now, that is not a fix in my book. My book (God’s Word) says,

Wine is a mocker, beer is a brawler,
and whoever staggers because of them is not wise. (Proverbs 20:1)

Pardon me if I am doubtful this strategy –

 “After a few drinks, we’re going to stop the B.S. and work together,” Graham said. (IBID.),

will work. I know some will say that is not an issue. Excuse me, but we are “snakebit” already, and the last thing we need is a lack of “wisdom.”
