Thought For The Day

Too Late

Do  you ever feel like the solution to the problem comes just a little too late for you to benefit? I have an idea that there are many families that are experiencing that just now.

According to Associated Press, President Obama has as his goal “to prevent millions of American families from losing their houses because they can’t make mortgage payments.”

While no one, as far as we know, understands how that plan is going to work, imagine being a family who experienced foreclosure last month, or the month before, and their home was sold, and they are not likely to be getting another one, at least not soon. I wonder how people who stayed in inexpensive, older housing, knowing they could not afford an expensive new home with a mortgage well beyond their means, will handle the idea that those who did just the opposite will be “bailed” out with lower payments and/or interest, or whatever else a new paradigm will present.

In light of that thinking, let me encourage you to recognize that there is another “too late” scenario. Someday soon, Christ will return for those who are members of His family of redeemed believers. When He does, there will no longer be an opportunity to repent, receive God’s grace through faith in Christ Jesus. The Scriptures warn us clearly that “today is the day of salvation.” Before it is too late, find a place to discover eternal life.

If you don’t know how to find that place, respond to this blog. We know the plan!
